Characters/Pairings: No pairing, characters are a grumpy lighthouse manager and his shiny new assistant from the mainland. Also, a few ghosts.

Rating & Warnings: this is lite horror, becomes significantly more horror-y as the story goes on. There are dead bodies, &etc.

Estimated Fic Length: complete at roughly 5k.

Notes: This story is technically complete, but I am always looking for ways to improve it. I hope for the story to eventually go on submission, and I want to make it as good as I possibly can! I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer, even if it's just "this part doesn't work for me" etc. I prefer to work using googledocs but email is perfectly fine too! TIA.

I'm curious about this, though I'm not sure if I can handle the horror elements. Can you give a comparison to other stories/movies?

I guess it's similar to The Others, if you've seen that movie? A kind of creeping horror, but with one description of ghosts and another of a dead body.

I haven't seen it, though I read the synopsis for the 2001 movie and it reminds me of the (admittedly few) horror stories I've read and liked. I'd be happy to beta for you if you don't mind telling me what you expect from me; I haven't really done this before. ^^;;

Oh thank you! I guess I'm just really looking for help with the flow and the ~vibe~ of the story, I want to make sure it seems credible. I don't need any help with SPAG (unless you happen to see a typo!). I guess pacing as well, and general plot coherence. Honestly, I mostly just want to know what you think doesn't work in the story, so that I can fix it.
