Fandom: MCU, Captain America

Characters/Pairings: Steve Rogers/James "Bucky" Barnes, Ensemble Supporting Cast

Rating & Warnings: E/NC-17. There's an on-page rape in the final chapter, extremely dubious consent between the main pairing characters, a lot of violence and gore throughout the fic, and some accidental torture between friends. This is a dark!fic, and kind of skirts the line between "Fandom Typical Tags for Winter Soldier Related Trauma" and "Hydra Trash Party" (there's no sex trauma related to Bucky's time with Hydra, but there's a lot of dehumanization and physical/mental abuse). It's a "Winter Soldier mistakes Cap as his handler" fic. If you me know your specific or potential triggers/squicks, I can double-check.

Estimated Fic Length: ~16k-25k left, so all together the fic will probably be between 65k-80k words.

Notes: The first 51k is already posted up on AO3, and now I've got a mess on my hands. This is the first longfic I've ever gotten far enough on to start doing actual resolutions and it. . . uh, kinda shows? Originally there were supposed to be 30 chapters total, but I think I've whittled down the excess so there's only 5 chapters left, ranging from 900 - 6k words in length (because chapter consistency is for people who know what they're doing). Anyway, I need someone to hold my hand, pat my head, and steer me back on track when I start getting distracted by subplots and the shiny secondary characters. Also, because of how long it's been since I wrote some of these scenes, I need a second set of eyes to make sure it's all written in the same voice/style so that you can't tell which scenes were written this year and which have been sitting in a drawer since 2015.

The fic is Post-CA:TWS, but canon divergent from the ending on (so you don't need to have seen any of the later movies or shows in the MCU). I reference some comics stuff, but again, you don't need to actually have read Brubaker's run or anything; everything you need to know is in the narrative and I usually put an author's note for extra clarity (I also do this with all of Tony's pop culture references and whenever I go too hard on military jargon). Unfortunately, because I am struggling with making my resolutions not suck or come off as melodrama, you will need to be familiar with what has already happened in the fic and how things have been foreshadowed to see if that's paying off (though you won't need to beta previously posted chapters) (except for the one I am rewriting because Story Structure Is Hard™).

I really want to finish this fic by the end of the year, but I don't think I can without help.

So, I am looking for someone familiar with the Supernatural characters (though you don't need to be current on plot since this story never references any of the main story arcs and I'm not even sure which season it would fall into) and who wouldn't be offended reading explicit Castiel/Dean/Sam smut.

You only need to skim the first 4k to get up to speed on the "plot" (though feel free to point out any typos), general feedback on the next 7k words (typos, confusing bits, grammatical errors), and then full beta on the last chunk (this is the bit that's still in flux so it's okay to suggest more sweeping re-writes). The final scene will involve the full sex-pretzel terror of trying to make clear who is doing what to whom and I'm seriously questioning why I promised the world an OT3 sex scene.

Rating & Warnings: no explicit sexual content (like, at most there will be a kiss), no graphical violence, but there's going to be canon-typical violence and also copious amounts of fucked-up-ness - I take post-trauma and CPTSD Very Seriously, and Jace has significant helpings of those.

Notes: this is a sequel to The Woods, which is a fork-in-the-road AU splitting circa Izzy's trial. What I need is genuine beta reading - I have an editor, she's great, but she's not in the fandom and I need to know if the story is working the way I want it to work, which means I need someone's emotional reactions to the story.

I recommend giving The Woods a whirl first - it will give you a fairly good idea of my style and what you can expect in terms of warn-able content.

I don't want anything too in-depth, really, and I don't want anything that mucks up the format I've got it in, but I've messed around with the tenses a lot and I just really want another eye run over it to make sure the tenses are correct now (all past tense) and that it all makes sense, really!

Looking for a beta who can: Looking for a beta who can help me with two chapters of enemies to lovers smut (specifically the smut scenes to see if they're well written enough/fit the rating I have). The two chapters in total are 15k, however they're not all smut so maybe cut it by half or so. The chapters certainly build off of previous ones (since this is a story with smut), but it's not particularly necessary to know the plot, even though there is character development during the smut. The smut itself is fairly vanilla and M/F.

The idea I got for the fic sets it at the very beginning of the series, though, and I'm a Gen writer at heart, so I'm worried that the "sparks" I sprinkled into the story aren't... well... romantic enough? I don't want this to skew too far to the Gen side of things, but otoh, I despise insta-love. So I need some Romance beta's eyes on this.

That's the main thing. If some odd phrases catch your eye while reading, don't hesitate to point them out to me (English isn't my mothertongue), but I'd consider this a bonus - I don't expect you to comb this story for SpaG and weird ESL mistakes.

Canon knowledge isn't really needed for this short fic. All you need to know is that Mark had been washed ashore after a storm, and when it was discovered that his weird anatomy allowed him to breathe underwater, the Navy snatched him up and tasked Dr. Elizabeth Merril with finding out who he was and where he came from (and how to exploit his abilities for the fatherland, I guess).

Would you like to be a beta reader for a Gravity Falls billford fic? It would be super helpful to have another set of eyes on what I have so far. The unpublished chapter is 487 words, subject to change. The preceding fics total to 1,160 words.

I need help with tying all the concepts in the outline together, and figuring out whether it is cohesive. I prefer someone who has seen the show, so that they can analyze characterization, but the wiki is also an acceptable way to bring yourself up to speed. BillFord is a hero/villain ship.

I'm not sure what else needs to be warned for, but I do worry about impressions of emotional abuse, so if that squicks you out, I'd suggest passing on this one.
